Why is the soil a dutiful surrounding substance for plant growth? ...
For potted plants, a mixture of bamboo soil, soil and sand will be a worthy medium for plant growth.
It depends on what you are growing.
Indoor plants: you may want to get a soilless medium with peat moss, vermiculite & perlite, or cocoa cellulose, etc...
You will have to make a payment nutrients for your plant
Outdoor plants: a good topsoil near peat or manure will work in good health. Topsoil has nutrients (from decaying matter that make up soil), over time it will be used up by the plants, and additional fertilizer will inevitability to be added.
Some farmers let their field rest for a year or 2, grow a crop of feed-like plants. The field grows passionate, without tilling, until needed. The plants store Nitrogen & will return it posterior to the ground when tilled.
Also, if you will be using seed to produce plants, you should use a pip starter media, it is finely-ground peat. Using the soilless medium will help prevent microbes (which is in topsoil) from harm your sensitive plants (botritys).
Answers: i am assuming you accidently asked twice.
Soil has a structure that can support microbial movement as well as structure for roots to anchor the plant within.
