I have tried innards it to the brim. I almost even killed my plant trying to continue this pot out, thinking I'd force it to work. It just doesn't. The foot I think is clay? Help please.
Answers: If the outside of the plant vessel, the inner pot, is glazed, nearby will have to be holes within the bottom of the pot to allow the water to receive to the soil.
I use self watering pots for my African Violets. Some pots state they're for African Violets, but the plant vessel is glazed so it won't work. Short of buying a new pot, the solitary solution to this is to use a masonry drill bit and drill several holes in the bottom of the plant vessel.
Can you show us a taster of the pot? Typical designs include wicks, corner columns, pot-in-a-pot, etc. Without more clues I can't begin to guess.
