Why do mosquitioes not approaching citronella?? ...

Answers:    The following excerpt is from an EPA Factsheet:

"Oil of Citronella is a volatile, liquid grease derived from dried cultivated grasses. It works on insects without harm or killing them. It have a distinctive odor which may make it difficult for some pests to locate a host. The length of repellency time vary with the adjectives ingredients and the amount of citronella oil surrounded by the product. "

What I understand is that skeeters are attracted by carbon dioxide emmited from the breath and skin, as a consequence Citronella is disruptive to the insect's ability to find prey.

This is the Best Answer I can set aside.
