I will admit that I don't have the greenest meadow on the block but I'm working on it through many tips that I found on here. I couldn't find information regarding green spots. My pasture has many circle spots contained by 6 inches to 12 inches in diamater that are 10x greener than the rest of the lawn. Even more, it seem that the blades in those spots are longer than the rest of the lawn, hence growing faster. Why is this?
it sounds like crabgrass or a variant. Have you treated your grass for weeds? weed and feed by Scotts is a great product and will fix it adjectives up! Sounds like dog pee. It has some ammonia within it = nitrogen = greener lawn where the urine puddle is.
Its simple really, those are the healthiest spots and the rest of your grassland lacks Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium.
Try fertilizing your lawn and maybe the rest of it will ensnare up. there's three things that might be happening 1. you have a weed 2. the circles are place where on earth the grass get a lot of wet and 3. you might have spilled a little extra fertilizer contained by place that a re greener.
Answers: could be a different sort of grass growing in those areas than in others- if it is soft and healthy- not too straightforward to pull up- encourage it to grow- if it comes up easy-i.e pulls up close to sod patches- get rid of it- it's a poor quality similar to crab grass- as someone else said- if you have pets they could have "fertilized" those areas- although from the size you indicated i doubt this is this baggage but could be- depends on the size and patterns of your pets "fertilizing" habits. try doing a patio wide pertilizer to even it out- avoiding the dark green spots- this within theory should even out the darker areas- or if it is too hot contained by your area to fertilize now- wait until fall- fertilize your entire courtyard and wait til spring to see if you have better results
One cause would be dogs and/or cats pottying at those spots. That adds fertilizer at those locations and cause the grass to turn greener and grow faster. could it be like this one?... it's dallisgrass... you mow and two days later, this stuff looks similar to you missed mowing it!!...
