You have two choices:
You can ride it out for the subsequent few weeks and see if the plant recovers.
Or
You can start over by adjectives the lucky bamboo stalk above the wan. Find a node about an inch above the washed out part. The nodes are the raise rings that grow around the stalk. Cut the stalk and take the stock top and dip it surrounded by rooting hormone powder (local garden center carry this). Let it dry overnight; next place it in a container near a couple of inches of water. The stalk top will form roots and you will enjoy a new plant."

Usually stems turn ashen because they are infected by bacteria. The tip of the leaves is becoming ashen or brown
1. Water evaporates from the tips of the bamboo leaves. If nearby is too much fertilizer in the dampen it will block the veins contained by the tips of the leaves and prevent the water from healthful the leaves. As a result the leaves will start to turn yellow or brown. 2. Bacteria thrives within areas that have giant moisture ¨C for example, plants in marine. If your plant has a cut contained by the leaves, or is injured, bacteria will infect it quicker. To try and avoid this, rinse out the bamboo leaves obligingly (especially if it is in a dusty or hot environment)."

"Stalks turning sickly from the bottom: too much fertilizer. Sadly, there¡¯s probably little you can do at this point. Change the water and don¡¯t nurture, and there¡¯s a (slim) chance the plant may get better. You can also cut off the stalks above the ashen part and root the tops. If one stalk turns pallid and the others look fine, just remove that one from the arrangement."
