I planted my Rose of Sharon bush in April. It has be growing quickly & seems to be doing economically. It has full sun for most of the day. I river it regularly & fertilize once a week. It is about 3 feet soaring & has lots of buds on it. It had its first two blooms yesterday (purple, double-blooming flowers). I notice, today, that a few of the buds are turning yellow. Is this something I should be concerned about &, if so, is at hand anything I can do to prevent this?
Answers: No this is nothing to worry just about. We had 3 of them (before we moved) and that wasn't unusual for the buds and the leaves to turn yellow. I cogitate it had to do with any the heat or the lack of rainfall.
But again, nothing to worry give or take a few. Rose of Sharon is one of the hardiest bushes you can grow. My neighbor had a hedge of them and would cut them rear legs half way and they would come fund the next year as if nothing happen!
