Why are my Peace Lily blooms green? I rec'd a beautiful Peace Lily Plant from some friends in February...

I rec'd a beautiful Peace Lily Plant from some friends in February and surrounded by May when it became root-bound I split it and now enjoy 2 beautiful plants...But the lilies are green...They are a beautiful green so shouldn't complain, but not a soul seems to know why they're not white? Can you help me?
