My zucchini plants WERE producing male and female flowers, I be hand pollinating them even though we have bees "only just to be sure" and then all of a sudden, the womanly buds just started dying WAY before they be mature enough to unfold. The worst part is that I have tons of nice masculine flowers. I even got 5 zucchinis off of the plant back the female buds started dying off. I even enjoy one zucchini on the plant right now that looks half motionless. By half dead, I penny-pinching the end looks like it started to die and after decided not to. So part of it looks great and module of it looks withered. I'm not so concerned with this zuke itself, but with the "proto-zukes" that aren't even trying to bloom. What is stirring here? It's happening to all 5 of my plants.
I hose almost every day except if it rains and I ferilize every 2 weeks near terra-cycle worm poop. Everything else (tomatoes, scallions, peppers) is doing fine. HELP!
Answers: take the flowers and rub them together to cross pollinate them,,,,then you will hold more, unless you can introduce more bees in your area to pollinate them.
your plants are scarce super phosphate, for a quick fix mix a handful in a bucket of wet and sprinkle round the plants, that's probably all they need
