I checked under bricks and rocks in my front and backyard, but no luck. Where do they salt away? I know they hide underground, but how do i find them?
Go out to your pasture at night with a flashlight and you will find worms. They come to the surface at hours of darkness. They also surface when it is raining hard. In your yard conspicuously but you can also get some from bait and tackle shops if you really call for some
This will sound strange, but if you pat the ground hard beside your hand, or a spade or something, the vibrations cause the worms to rise to the surface..so you should see some. Get a sea hose or a sprinkler and soak a medium to large nouns of the ground, then, cover it with a tarp, boards, or doesn`t matter what else you have. Leave it overnight and then check.
Answers: Loose , moist, cool, organically enriched soil.
If you own a clay yard, try the edge closest to the woods.
If you enjoy raised bed gardens.dig within there.
If you have a properly tend compost heap..look in at hand. You can't miss them!!
Now, if you are looking for a large bundle to start natural aeration or to finish rotten your compost heap (if you plan to start one for...uhmmmm.whatever object.even if only for an eternal supply of worms!!):

But seriously:
If you just want them for fishing welllllllll.verbs around your birdbath..it's usually a little damper...
Don't have one? Hmmmmmm...
