I want to redo my front sward and maybe build a step way of some sort...where on earth can i get design from?
Answers: Go to a place like Lowe's--they hold racks of books like these near color photos and diagrams and some very detailed directions. You can also run to a nursery or landscape place for philosophy. The people in attendance are very sympathetic. You might want to try this first: drive through some of the neighborhoods in your nouns (especially where you'd approaching to live) to get thinking.
[EDIT] I'm in the middle of doing this. Once I get several ideas I used colored pencils and graph quality newspaper to map out my thoughts. I realized I needed prices so that be the first step. You might want to do the walkway first if you're using slabs of stone which can find pricey. Plus, unless you can get the sand for underneath and spread it by yourself, you'll want to hire someone. Flowers and trees could come next year. Hint: within the fall nurseries cut prices on annuals, bushes, shrubs, trees and bulbs--great time to buy. I found nurseries are better than catalogs because the nursery's plants are grown for your climate and water conditions.
[EDIT] BE aware your garden areas won't fire up to look like the pictures--they remove the dated plants and literally cram in hot plants fresh from the nursery when they're doing a photo shoot. That's why all the photos look so great. Be aware correct magazines cater to the West Coast which may not apply for plants in your nouns.
