I want to go to a store, choose one and bring it home beside me. Big box stores in the Chicago suburbs don't appear to carry them. I would a bit not pay for shipping if I don't hold to - especially for a large compost bin.
Answers: If you are contained by the suburbs, i would suggest bying a 2 stage tumbler. in the pile method, you own to be pretty diligent to keep it from smelling. My favorite one have a center drum to collect the finished compost while you can keep calculation new food bits and bobs to the main mixer. works really okay. I got mine at a plant store. you might also try ace hardware or the like.
I agree near creating your own which I did this year because we just moved. At our previous home, my husband built a gorgeous but expensive bin from treated lumber...same results, less expense. When you want to 'turn' the compost, simply elevate up the chicken wire fencing, move it subsequent to the pile, shovel the compost back surrounded by, in the unmarked location...done.
