When should I core and fertilize my pasture? It's October and I don't know what I should do to make...

It's October and I don't know what I should do to make sure my meadow comes back after winter. The sod be placed both in June and surrounded by late September but I don't know how to pip it or how to fertilize it properly because I've never lived in a place near a real winter season (snow!) Some areas of the grass is turning brown, but other areas are super green.
Answers:    It depends on the type of grassland. Most lawns rebound after severe climates, frosts, heat etc. one-sidedly i have found beside santa anna couch grass, the best time to fertilize is early spring. but previously fertilizing, if you want the perfect prairie, you must scarify (Cut right back), dethatch (remove the horizontal runners above the surface), core (a machine that puts small holes contained by the lawn to allow hose down and nutrients right to the roots), followed up with a top dress of a verbs sandy loam and fertilizer that is lofty in nitrogen. dampen every day and inwardly 1-2 weeks it will be magic. same process will work next to pretty much all creeping lawns.
Use kernel and fertilizer/food together. The "er" months are (September-December) the best time to plant grass and water it, within the Mid-west. (Obviously don't water if your sprinkler will freeze.) Grass flourishes within cool moist conditions. Also, grass is hardy, it will come back nice and green contained by spring. Once the winter has broke, start fund up with the pip and fertilizer/food. You'll have an awesome sward. Your local lawn and garden center can facilitate you determine the best seed and food for your region and the time of year. Good luck!
