Help! I have two petuntias limp baskets that are starting to thin out at the floor. Little by little they lose there leaves starting at the foundation and upward. There are still a lot of blooms though. They are contained by sun most of the day. I sea them once a day. And I give them some fertilizer that is suppose to end for the growing season. Any thoughts?
Answers: Your petunias could probably take a honourable pruning to about six inches of stalk. Also, petunias prefer constant pinching of the pip heads, which transfers activeness to new growth. It's possible you could be overwatering; if you hose down them once a day. I negotiator the need for hose down by lifting the pot. If it feels robust, it doesn't need more hose. If it's light and airy, afterwards water echoingly and make the pot robust once again.
did you cut them back after they bloomed?if you dead-head the flowers the plant will produce longer ,if a great deal went to pip,the plant is probably finished, you need to unmoving head to keep hold of it producing, and cut it back to the confines of the picnic basket ,after it blooms.tom
