Whats an life passageway to remove ants from vegetable garden?
Answers: I believe I have hear of using cornmeal to sprinkle over the mound. I think the ants will it guzzle but they can't digest it. I have also hear that aspartame will kill ants, the artificial sweetner found surrounded by sodas. Try pouring a can of Diet Coke on the mound. They also hate anything spicy you can sprinkle cinnamon, black pepper, or cayenne pepper around the surrounding area. Good luck!
There is a product called Anti Fuego and it is produced by Gardenville, out of San Antonio, Tx. It is available within Austin at The Natural Gardener and at some other nurseries. It kills ants and doesn't wound anything else. It is actually labeled on the bottle as a Soil Conditioner. It is composed of humate, ginger oil, and molasses. You could possibly also create your own but I don't know the proportions. The product have no expiration date so that is a bonus! It comes as a concentrate, and you put in 3 to 4 ounces to a gallon of water and apply hasty in tyhe morning. Reapply if they aren't adjectives gome. It takes out the queen.
Another article I do is center a compost pile over the ants and they will cook out by the heat generate by the working compost! Good luck! Joy
