I just bought a fresh house and I have no impression about sprinklers My grassland is about .33 of an acre. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Answers: Rainbird and Hunter are the two most widely used contained by commercial installations.
I used to specify Rainbirds for most of my projects. After testing both at my house and comparing them to Hunter, I've switched to the Hunter sprinklers. Their spray head have a better design for the trademark (don't leak from the sou`wester if loose) and the ratchet is better, plus they have a stronger spring (better retraction so they don't stay up and grasp hit by the mower), and they are a little smaller number money too.
Toro used to be one of the best, but when they forced the company founder to retire against his will, he left and took his pattents and started Hunter Industries. Toro have gone down hill since, surrounded by my professional opinion.
I would suggest using the Hunter SRS. The Hunter Pro-Spray is more sweet duty but costs a bit more. The Hunter Institutional Spray (it has a 5 year warranty) have a built in pressure regulator that prevents misting if the pressure is too glorious, but they are even more money.
For larger areas, you may want to use MP Rotator nozzles (Hunter has bought out the company who created them) on the Pro-Spray or SRS head. You can throw up to 30 feet next to the 3000 series so you will need nearly half as frequent heads than if you use sprays (15 foot spray throw) and they are cheaper than a rotor. They have a lower precipitation rate (comparable to a rotor or roughly speaking 1/3 that of a spray head) so you should zone them separate (on a different valve from the spray heads) since they will involve to run 3 times longer to put down the same amount of river per square inch of lawn.
Choosing sprinklers is close to buying a car. You are usually better bad spending a little more up front to bring back a good reliable product instead of going cheap, and have it in the shop adjectives the time bleeding your wallet dry!
You can e-mail me if you have any question.
Rainbird is a trusted name contained by sprinklers. It is also easy to take any parts you may need contained by the future. If you retrieve a couple bucks now, you will probably spend twice that much latter to solve problems.
