My sister and her husband have two rustic looking tubs on their front porch (they look approaching two barrels sawed in half). I don't intuitively care for those containers, but I mull over with the right mixture of plants it could be really pretty.
Today is their wedding anniversary so it seem like the right time to do something almost it. We were over at hand yesterday and my brother in regulation was conversation about how they needed to take some plants and flowers for the front, but he didn't know what that would be.
Our yard is adjectives sun, while their's is almost exclusively shade...so I don't know which shade plants would make a nice mixture, which would be hardy and low looking after (a VERY important factor next to these two.etc) Suggestions?
Answers: You did not mention whether you want annuals, but they are the best choice for continuous color for a porch.
Impatiens are happy contained by the shade, as are begonias, coleus (bright foliage in abundant color choices to compliment your impatiens), and several others---which are less adjectives and possibly difficult to find.
They will need hose and fertilizer once per month, but otherwise, these flowers flourish with little perfectionism. Coleus needs to be pinched posterior occasionally, and to have the tiny flower stalks plucked when they show up. Otherwise, continuation is limited.
Hosta's come contained by various shades of green, a perennial.
Flowers, annual, begonias come surrounded by red, yellow, etc. or double impatients which are a favorite of mine contained by pink. Also other colors, resemble small roses, lots of buds. Begonia bulbs can be brought in the slump, replanted in the spring. I bring contained by my entire pot as my garage is slightly heated, set it back out surrounded by the spring with watering, up they come again. They steady flower until nose-dive.
