I'm in northeast PA. There is a 4x6 spot at the rear our apartment that gets sun street lamp after noon. I'm guessing it face west/SW. I want to plant veggies and herbs that the typical couple will most plausible use and are easy to vigilance for. It will also be nice to save the money when grocery shopping. This will be my first garden ever. Any tips and adjectives links would be greatly appreciated!
Tomatoes, crookneck squash, okra, cucumbers, I don`t know some melons, stringbeans, maybe some sweet corn.
You nouns like a unflawed candidate for the Square Foot Garden.
Here are a couple websites to swot about that:

You express an interest within both vegetables and herbs, so I will also include a couple of sites on companion planting. It is such a wonderful and adjectives technique!

Good luck and have fun!
Answers: If you like homemade salsa approaching I do, plant cilantro, tomato and onions. If you plan on using seeds, you will call for a seed starter paraphernalia. I do it the cheap way though. I use those plastic dixie cups at walmart. It's a 100 pack for rather over a dollar. I use miracle grow seed starting mix and follow the instructions on the spinal column of the seed pouch (total expense of $4.38 + seeds). If it say to plant the seed 1" low or 1/2 or 1/4" then do it. Once your recently grown sprouts come up, read the back of the pip pouch again to see when it is recommended to transplant. Sometimes it says to transplant at 6" elevated or 3" tall or even "near two sets of leaves." The packages also tell you if they require full sunlight, shade, etc. near recommended planting months for your area. Go down to your local gardening center and look at the nut pouches. So far I have corn, tomatoes, green beans, watermelon, radishes, resourcefully...I bought just more or less every veggie I could find, but I had the space for it. Have fun beside it. I write on the plastic cup the following:
Date seed planted
What I planted
The estimated sprout date (listed on the back of the pip pouch)
Once they started sprouting I kept a log of what sprouted and when. When I get up the subsequent morning I take a steal a look to see how many more popped up. The rewarding cog is when you have successfully grown the plants from seed and placed them in your garden. Once they fruit...even more of a reward!
