of plants [[vegies and fruit and food]] will grow in the shade
they wont take much sun
but some
but what type can grow with smaller number sun?
Answers: The best veggies for shade are your leafy veggies such as.. lettuce, spinach, kale, swiss chard etc. Partial shade loving veggies (with at least a partly days sun) are your root veggies such as carrots, turnips, beets, kohlrabi, parsnip, radish etc. Fruits and veggies that require flowering to set fruit (apples, pears, tomatoes, squash, melons) are not going to do all right in shade or partial shadow for that matter. They want full sun to get maximum production of their crop. One good thing of growing leafy veggies is that they can be harvested and eat at any time during their growing period, unlike crops that require flowering and ripening up to that time the finished product is available. They are also planted in the precipitate spring when the weather is cooler, allowing for a longer harvest time back the summer heat arrives. As long as the weather stays cool, you can hold on planting leafy veggies and enjoy the get in. Hope this answers your question. Have a Happy New Year!.........
