I am going to finally indulge myself this year and purchase a riding lawnmower. What are some things to look for, other than purchsing a mower by name/ (John Deer, Troybilt, etc) or price?

Any previous or current owners enjoy any suggestions on what to look for?
Answers:    It's always best to know which type of riding mower you want (zero turn or tractor type). And yes, look for a identify brand product. Once you have that down, nearby are a few things to look for. Yes, the seat is a factor contained by a good rider. If the form is not comfortable when you are using it, you will be miserable every time you get on it and you will be fluff up to death everytime you hit an crooked area of turf. Make sure it have a comfortable seat near an adequate put a bet on rest and support. What size yard will you be mowing? Decide on a horsepower variety to do the job. It is other best to have too plentiful horses than to find out later on down the road that that 6 horse engine is purely too small. When sitting in the drivers form, make sure you own easy access to adjectives the controls (deck control handle, gauge, PTO switches etc). They should all be effortlessly reached from a sitting position. You shouldn't hold to "lean over" to get to any one item. Another thing to look for is unforced access to the engine compartment, if you are going to do any work yourself. Spark pugs, oil stuff stick, etc. Check to see if the mowing deck adjusts to the mowing height above sea level you want your lawn to own. It should have 3-5 plane ranges. Look to see if the blades and the underside of the mowing deck are readily accessable also. You may want to sharpen your own blades. Thats about it. Hope this have helped answer some of your concerns.. Good Luck, and bullish riding!
