I know nothing give or take a few shrubs, but I am hoping to plant one that will be easy to carry on throughout the year (in the UK). It would be nice if it could have some colour, attract indisputable kinds of visually interesting animals (ie butterflys) and/or donate out a nice scent.

It will be in my brother's garden and he have a 2 year old boy so something visually interesting would be nice.
Any give a hand is greatly appreciated!

Mock red is nice. The smell is fantastic. Hydrangea is nice too.
