I live in the sierra's medow vista. And surrounded by fron of my house there are nil but dead plants. I would approaching to put some small but very pretty shrubs or bushes something not to big or expensive. I don't even know where on earth to start HELP!!

Answers:    Rose of Sharon looks great all year long and doesnt bloom until delayed summer. Maple leaved Viburnum also looks great and had smart berries on the top of the bush in Fall. Highbush cranberry looks biddable and the cranberries are really neat when they form. Pyrocanthia or fire thorn looks great but the thorns are toxic...tough to prune but the bushes and orange berries look great. People recommend Rhododendrons but if constantly cared for look approaching ratty rubber plants. And one of the old favorites, bridal wreath, looks correct all year except right after the flowers bloom. The brown dying flowers look caring of unsighly but can be pruned off. Weigelia looks great near or without flowers. My favorite of this pack is the Rose of Sharon.
