I had some elegant flax in my garden end year. I didn't cut it down, and now I'm not sure what to do to sustain it to be as beautiful again this year. Should I cut the stalks down? If so, how far? I live within Boise. Thanks!
Answers: Here in the the Dakotas my flax is a self seed short lived perennial. I leave mine standing contained by the winter to help trap snow and reseed. In the spring I cut it put a bet on to 4-6" and leave the cuttings as mulch. RScott
