I live in western NC. I was digging within the red soil today and came across some sort of either egg skin or pupa. It is about 2 inches long, black in color, one running out is rounded an the other comes to a sort of point and it has ridges or circular bands going around it. It's have a little weight to it when you roll surrounded by in your palm. Never saw anything like it, I am hoping someone can identify it for me. I am curious to see what comes out of it.
