Answers:    A bay tree will donate you bay leaves for your cooking... and can be kept at anything height you want by clipping and pruning. It will grow big plenty to give you privacy. A lemon verbena will bequeath you lemon scented leaves and flowers and can also grow into a small tree to peak neighbours and you can use the plant to flavour cooking. Cumquats will give you evergreen stall, some varieties grow into small trees and others smaller growing... use the fruit contained by the kitchen for marmalade, for marinating in brandy, and for citurs flavours surrounded by cooking. Plants look great covered in the small ginger fruit and the flowers smell very sweet. Pineapple guava are hardy immense shrubs or small trees (feijoa selowiana) and will tolerate frost and heat. Evergreen and look great surrounded by flower. The large fruit taste like pineapple and make lovely jam and great eat fresh. Dense enough to trademark a screen from neighbours. (we use them for this as well). If you put some support such as trellis or a couple of poles, you can espalier (train flat) some smaller growing fruit trees and get an edible wall between you and your neighbours.
