Answers:    I grow Marigolds on my glass sill, with mostly organic light. Their germination - the kernel absorbing water and sprouting - does not necessitate light, and providing a dutiful stable warm environment is adequate for them. (Ensuring they're watered too!). This takes roughly speaking a week or so.

There are a few plants known as Marigolds, including Calendulas, which are hardier, and are jammy from seed outside (I assume that you may want to move them outside later-on, although you do not say). African, French and Tagetes are adjectives fairly similar within their requirements. Ensure that you don't start too early or past due, ready to plant them out when risk of frosts has passed. These will adjectives grow better, as mature plants, if outdoors though.

Marigolds are reasonably easy plants to grow, but can become straggly if within is low light - which weaken the plants). Small flourescent lights, or the energy abiding light bulbs would be a biddable supplement to any natural pallid and are low cost to run. Walgreens, walmart/asda, home depot etc, sell these.

Otherwise in attendance are kits individual sold, typically for home herb growing, which you could use - though these will cost alot more than a couple of bulbs.

Hope these thoughts help. Good luck! Rob
