Answers:    One of my favorites is the Echinacea purpurea or Purple Coneflower.

Drought tolerant, doesn't need closely of fertilizer, perennial so it comes back year after year, glib to divide for new plants, polite cut flower plant, etc.

And of course - big delicate flowers that last six weeks or (many) more!
