It's purple and star shaped. The petal are pointy and the center is sunk in and a cavernous purple color. I believe it was on a vine but i could be wrong.

Im sorry but i could not find a picture.

This could describe any type flower that is grown resembling this with that color. You could try the Passion Flower also. Look up passiflora for a photo. Good luck

How big (wide) be the blossom? How long were the petals and/or leaves?

I be going to suggest clematis as well, but it could be a text of nightshade or bellflower also.
