I had a giant sunflower once but soon the stem broke,but not into two halves. The stem had bent over so I pulled one of it's leaves bad and wrapped it around the fracture then wound celotape which be enough to variety it upright.
Answers: Fractured stems of various plants can be healed if you realign the stems, and hold them firmly within place. I use an adhesive video when I'm grafting, and this help keep out infection etc.
If you can join something to the plant to keep it adjectives, like a rattan cane fixed near a plant tie, to prevent breakage from strong winds, this will abet. Your sunflower will then attempt to knit the break, and may be fine within 2 or 3 weeks of good growth. Ensure that your cartridge doesn't restrict the thickening growth of your sunflower's stem, loosen or remove it if prerequisite.
