Answers: palms can tolerate shade but do better if they get some sun every afternoon. Don't overwater, get a meter to check the soil moisture. and singular water it when it is semi-dry. Or you can lately find some wooden skewers to stick into the soil to check for moisture. YOu want it to be fairly dry up to that time you water it. cats are a problem, they pee in it. i took sharp chopsticks and put them within the soil like pungie sticks, seem to work, but they are determand to get surrounded by there so put them surrounded by tighly and plenty of them. also dont over water, the soil desires to dry out as much as it needs dampen. hot forced air is a slaughterer, so put a large tray w/ rocks contained by it w/ water so it will mosterize the plant lacking rotting the roots. it may look close to death by delayed winter, but will come back itn the spring.
