What is the bast bearing to mow a prairie? ...
Answers: This question really depends on various factors.
1.) How generous of a yard is it?
If it is a immense yard, it may be best for a riding meadow mower. Although I push mow almost 2 acres beacuse a push mower generally give a better cut over all due to blade position. Since most riding mowers hold multiple blades, the curvature or contour of the property may vary which may alter the hieght of the blade relative to the ground.
2.) What type of turf do you have?
Bentgrass and Bermuda grass gernerally will look better if cut by a bobbin mower compared to a rotary mower. Also Fescues and Ryes look great if a roller is attached to the mower to give a striped apperance to the sward. Since there are variation in respectively grass type, there may diverge ways to properly mow.
3.) What kind of apperance do you want?
As metion past you can get a striped apperance near a roller, also you can mow differntly to get a Rough cut or a finished cut.
Sharp blades, different direction respectively time, set mower high, collect clippings and dispose. Of course other be safety conscious :)
