What is putting holes surrounded by my hostas?

Why aren't our grass seed germinate?
Slugs they love hostas and rhubarb. I use the beer in a lid deterrent.

Are within trees that look similar to chokecherry...
slugs (check at nighttime with a flashlight)
earwigs (check lower than the mulch around your plant)

I had both. They were totally destroyed previously I figured it out.
How can i hold on to the cats...
