Answers:    It's adjectives, a pond dont have a inborn filtration system. I tried several DIYand I got tired to see no primary improvement.

So I bought a dutiful commercial filter ( with UV hurricane lantern ) and in smaller quantity than a week i saw the results especially against algae.

My pond has 3 basin linked together by a weir and it's about 20 ft long x 6ft cavernous and 4 ft wide.

Conclusion.

You will spend more money for a Do-It-Yourself contained by a long run. Get a good filter system suitable for the size of your pond.
You can use any plastic container that have a securely fitting lid. Plastic shoe boxes are unfaultable.

Cut or drill holes around it, to allow water to flow surrounded by,cut a circular hole in the lid to accomodate your pump outlet, buy some PLASTIC furnace filter textile and place it in the box, put the lid on and place the set up surrounded by the pond. Plug in the pump.
