I now alot of inhabitants that use fertilizer, and their plants grow like crazy, i use fertilizer to!! but they grow fundamentally slow, WHY??
Maybe you're using the wrong fertilizer.Different crops change in their wants,e.g brassicas require lime,ericas need a lime free medium.
Get an inexpensive soil testing paraphernalia,find out what nutrients your soil requires and take it from nearby.Unless the existing soil is reasonably fertile,free draining and very well cultivated fertilizers won't work miracles with plant growth.
Meanwhile,Growmore is a honest general purpose stuff.
I'm wondering if it's that you don't sense yours growing because you see yours every day!

As far as fertilization go, if it's a non-food plant, you can get away near Miracle-Grow on everything, as long as you do it every two weeks. This will weaken soil structure and create a desperate condition.
If you use an life fertilizer specifically formulated for the type of plant you are feeding, you will be building the soil and feed the plant. This will create a strong growing medium for any plant.
Try the natural fertilizers. The response will be a little slower, but next you can go on leave and your plants will still be happy when you bring back back, as long as they are watered.
If you are totally forgetful, just stick contained by some Jobe's plant spikes.
Plants really do respond to them, and they are good for months.
Don't forget to compost your veg. trimmings and patio clippings. Compost is the very best fertilizer...possibly that's what your friends are doing differently...?
