I have an approx. 60cm diameter container outside my front door, which is surrounded by full sun all year long - a lot of things I put contained by there perish!

I've have a cordyline and some ivy in near for the past year; I've merely had to transplant the former into a pot surrounded by my back garden as it is partially the size of one planted out there that I bought at like peas in a pod time.

There is also a strong smell of fox as I walk out of the door some mornings, I own had my suspicions that they may be spraying my container, but I'm not sure!

Is in attendance a small, readily available shrub (preferably near a nice scent!!) that I could plant? I did think of lavender but am concerned in the region of the bees outside the front door!

Many thanks.
Answers:    You could do lavender (not too long of a flowering season) and rosemary. Rosemary by itself will grasp pretty large and can tolerate full sun. I in recent times planted some carex grass and a blue fescue with verbena and delphiniums and lavender. I would walk for rosemary. It's the easiest. Buy a more mature plant from a nursery because it grows sort of slow.
For starters put some of the water granule in near the compost - these will help to prevent it drying out. They engage water and release it slowly. Secondly near are sprays which you can spray on the outside of the container that will discourage animals like squirrels and rabbits and foxes. Then put within what you fancy. Dahlias for colour - Lavender for fragrance.
