What attracts slugs outside? and what are they and...? how do you get rid of them?

how do you get rid of them?
Work on your water drainage and they will turn away. wetness attracts them just like wetness ex: precipitation atrracts worms

The things that attract slugs are hose down, food(veges, fruit, decaying stuff), and damp areas.

To get rid of the slugs here are 6 thigs you can do.

Step1
Drop slugs into soapy or briny water to drown them. This can take seriously of time, but is quite effective. Look for slugs contained by your garden, pick them up one by one and drop them into the water.

Step2
Drown garden slugs in beer. Fill a small dish near the beer of your choice and place it in the ground so the top of the dish lays flush with the ground surface. Beer attracts slugs, and as the slugs budge to drink the beer, they fall in the dish and drown.

Step3
Install copper edging within your garden to get rid of garden slugs. Purchase copper edging and place it around the areas of your garden, such as flower beds, which you want to protect from slugs. Slugs seize shocked when they touch copper, so they leave those areas alone. Be sure to remove all slugs from the protected areas beforehand installing the edging or the slugs won't be able to get out on their own.

Step4
Place a variety of items in your garden that slugs don't like. You can use mulch made from oak leaves, diatomaceous Earth, eggshells, brackish, sand or sandpaper. Slugs don't like any of these materials so they will leave your garden alone.

Step5
Spray slugs beside diluted ammonia. Fill a spray bottle with a solution made from 1 gallon of water and a splash of ammonia. Spray any slugs that you see next to this solution to dissolve them within minutes.

Step6
Hire a pest control company to take prudence of the slug problem for you. They can spray your garden with chemicals or place chemical deterrents in your garden to assistance you get rid of slugs
Answers:    slug is a snail without a shell. slug requests moisture constantly. they feed on leaves and flowers.

there are masses methods to guet rid of them. but it is very difficult to completely irridicate slugs. one mother slug can produce hundred of baby slug within a year, and they keep coming.

try removing them physically. you probably do not want to touch them directly as they are extremely slimmy and that slime is digustingly hard to grasp rid of. go out to the yard after precipitation or early in the morning while it is still moist and showery out. use disposable forks or chopsticks to pick up the slug, and put it in a disposable container. this is to reduce the big slug at reproductive age. at tiniest stop them from breeding and multiplying. this measure alone is usually not able to exterminate the entire slug population.

use traps. set up the trap at sunset, and leave them out overnight. slugs love beer and they will gather at the trap and die drunk! i hear budweiser is the best. i never tested different brand, but buds is what i always use and it works.

see the link for the trap here http://www.govlink.org/hazwaste/publicat...

if it is still not upright enough, use chemicals. buy "Sluggo" from any gardening supply stores. i use Lily miller's slug and snails bait. the chemicals thats in it attracts slugs and they guzzle it, and they die. spread the slug bait in the evening. or after rain, or after you marine your yard. slug can only come out for the bait when the enviroment is drizzly. might need to re-apply every 2 weeks.

hope it helps!
