We went to intermediate park this weekend. As we passed "Balto" the dog statue, the fragrance of flowers was superb. There was a huge shrub near white dangling flowers nearby. Not sure if it be that... Anyone know what kind of plant/flower it be? I would love to duplicate that in my garden.
Answers: Maybe lilac, I'm not really sure. Lilac is within bloom now, so it's possible, and they grow in attendance.

Did the flowers look like trumpets? If so, it could hold been brugmansia, aka Angels Trumpets. They hold a wonderful fragrance and come in a mixture of colors. They are a tropical plant, tho, so they either enjoy to be brought inside during the winter, or they will die to the ground and usually grow back again the subsequent spring. They get really big surrounded by one year, often over eight foot tall.
