What are these small worms near shells within my restroom? I thought it was a piece of woodbark until I saw it...

I thought it was a piece of woodbark until I saw it move. It looks like there's for a while worm living inside of the shell. The shells are less than 1cm long and are beige/brown/gray in color. The shell is shaped resembling a football with narrow ends and a wider middle. There are two small opening on either end and it looks close to there's a little worm inside. The head sticks out of one expiration and pulls the shell up to move around. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? How do I procure rid of them??
wood worm, you have to treat the wood oh my gosh..self freak if i found these in my bathroom...

they r probably worm larva.(baby worms) and 2 get rid of them merely call an exterminator. I hope it is not the dreaded crotch worm.
Answers:    I'm guessing that you have hard wood bathroom floors. They I don`t know wood worm larvae. They are beetle larva that breed in the wood. Mop the bathroom floor next to full strength bleach for a few days. Pine Sol or Ammonia will work just as well but don't mix them. Either one will be toxic to the larva. Sweep the floor to remove decay after the floor has dried.

The bathroom is a faultless environment for them. You can avoid them by not allowing water and moisture to stay on the floor. Allow the floor to dry by using a fan.

Have a professional check the condition of the sub flooring. Also find information on treating and seal wood floors in the bathroom.
