I have developed a strong green itch surrounded by my fingers and I would like grow a few different (small) plants - preferably those which will flower. I don't enjoy a garden so they need to be grown surrounded by pots on my window sill. I own never grown anything before so they stipulation to be fairly straightforward!
Bust Lizzies are very uncomplicated to grow, they flower and you can snip a bit off, put it surrounded by a jar of water for 2-3wks. while the roots come down and you can re-pot making more. They are from white - through the pinks to a obscurity red. Some have double flowers too. The Christmas cactus is also effortless and mine flower at Xmas and just after Easter beside a sort of orchid looking flower. Some cacti flower but don't buy one "in flower" they don't finishing. My Tiger Aloe cactus, flowers on a long stem about every other year. Lots of primula plants generate good indoor plants and own many, copious colours. If you choses an African violet, be prepared to be dissapoionted, they are enormously hard to save. I have some "wandering jews" and they flower and their leaves can be anything from pallid green to mauve. Some of mine are furry too!. Pretty little flowers but messy as they dry out. Good luck...

Answers:    The problem beside most indoor plants you could buy is that they are tropical plants and ALL tend to grow large inside a few years.
Spider plants are nice if you intend to hang the plant because the tendril out and produce loads of little one plants on the tendrils.
Potmos (not sure of the spelling but they are the vining ones that enjoy heart shaped leaves) grow well surrounded by areas that do not require loads of light and close to up high places. They look nice when they vine out slowly and when the vines can hang down down.

What i would suggest for windowsill plants is to grow some herbs. (avoid mint as it will grow in a flash and quite immense!)
Even if you don't intend to harvest the herb, they still look and smell nice and require little attention and care next to mild pruning to maintain the size.
Good luck within whatever you want.
