2. Don't require special types of soil or food
3. Perennial
4. Potted
5. Frequently blooming
6. Fragrant flowers
7. Brightly colored
Trying to find a mode to spruce up my tiny living quarters, and any suggestions of plants you've have luck with would be appreciated. I realize the end 3 may not all be possible.
Answers: African Violets, Saintpaulia, don't want direct sunlight, and will bloom repeatedly with in principle low light level. They're also perennial and potted plants, with a mix of flower colours, pinks, blues etc.
They don't own fragrant flowers though! So fail on this category of your interests.
You could also try a Spathiphyllum or peace lily, which will thrive surrounded by low to medium bedside light: they flower better with environment light level - so this will partly depend on what artificial restrained you have, and how strong it is. White flowered, turning to green is typical for these plants, although their whiteness is highly showy. Sweet Paco is a fragrant version of this plant.
