i had a poison ivy patch contained by my backyard and the landscapers weed whacked the heck out of it . i have a young-looking daughter that plays back here. is the oil residue adjectives over the place now? are the comatose leaves able to grounds rashes ? how should i procure rid of the leaves on the ground?
This is a problem as the poison can stay involved for some time.
If you have or can borrow or rent a grassland mower which collects clippings in a daypack you could run it over the area and collect the dried ivy leaves surrounded by the bag. (I would not touch them). You may also enjoy or can rent a lawn vacuum for impossible to tell apart purpose.
I would not let your daughter play contained by that area.
Once the cut vines re-sprout foreign leaves spray them immediately beside Ortho weed and brush killer. That will pocket care of the poison ivy.
The dead leaves can lead to a rash until they are totally dried and the grease has have ample time to biodegrade. You can rake them up, I suppose.
The worst part is that they've credible left the stems and other parts of the plant and in a minute you cannot easily see where on earth it is - it would probably have be better to use a weed or vegetation slaughterer on the stuff, and cordon off the nouns to keep your daughter out of in that until the plants are dead and removed.
Answers: YES! the oil is adjectives over the place now.
Just similar to in the winter time, even if the plant looks dormant the grease is still in the branches and live.
I have have poison ivy in the winter.
DO NOT BURN THEM!!
The smoke is as toxic as the grease.
So get long pant, long sleeve shirt, gloves, and rubbers over your shoes so you can throw the rubbers out, while still wearing the gloves of course.
I recommend a dust cover.
That is because I had a discouraging reaction to the unmoving leaf dust when removing an massive vine from the side of an old brick two story building.
Rake it up, trash daypack it, and make sure the lots are not too heavy so the trash collectors will not reject the shoulder bag.
We have restrictions be I live.
When you come in the house you should shower beside one of many poison ivy soaps offered on the bazaar.
I still use the one my grand parents used Felz Naptha,
but Burt's Bees, offer one and so do many other brands, look within the pharmacy, or in the nurture and grain store, or Wal-Mart.
My grandsons ages 9 and 7 and 2 play within the woods behind the house adjectives the time and every night in the past dinner we scrub the lot of them with Felz Naptha .
So far, So obedient!
if surrounded by the dead of winter you remember a tree that have poison ivy on it and it has gone dormant ,and you dream up i'll pull that bad there and it will be gone come summer...WELL DON'T DO IT!even dormant the oil are still there you can get hold of a heck of an outbreak if your not careful..also don't burn it, you receive that smoke in your mucous membranes you get problems, use a garden rake and rake it up (don't touch) if you have a place you can put it away from your children ,deposit it in that it will rot in time, save bury it..,then clean-up scarcely...tom
