How is it possible that when you weed and feed,that one and only the weeds will die and not the grass?
Answers: There are herbicides that just work on dicots. They don't kill grass. Deep botany stuff. And heaps weed things are mostly just controlled by a preemergent that keep hold of the seeds from sprouting. So the grass explicitly already growing is fine, but the broadleaved (dicots) do not live or sprout.
Weed killer and weed 'n nurture is formulated to destroy roots of persuaded weed species like the dandelions whereas the grass is a different species and are not harmed. Fertilizer within the weed 'n feed then again could burn the grass if it used on one area of the grass too much.
