Help, how can we get over the price of top soil we hold brought some raised bed to grow our veggies but we can not afford the top soil, can you advise on how we can over come this or a substitute hELP we a short time ago want to grow our own and be healthy
Answers: It depends on your nouns, and who you know. If you know or can get to know a cultivator, feed lot owner or hand or maybe a construction worker, (dirt moving etc) you could be surprised what a covering of two of beer might get you.
It will probably be better dirt than you buy surrounded by the sack called top soil. But plan on getting some weed seed. That you can handle.
Lots of the top soil that comes surrounded by a sack, is good looking black dirt, but it may come from the ground 4 or 5 foot deep. Some culture refer to this as dead dirt, it take it about 3 years to start producing.
also start you own composite pile, leaves, grass clippings, potato peelings, coffee grounds, etc. To hurry it, stir your pile every few days. You mix adequate of that with almost any dirt and it will grow roughly speaking everything.
I had a dutiful garden spot so I did not need any, but for fun I started putting every entry I could think of contained by a fenced in pile. adjectives the stuff from garden we did not use plus all other. In 5 years I could elevate potatoes pull up the vine and the potatoes would be verbs no dirt, all root veggies come out clean.
I never stirred this, in recent times let character take it course.
