Water Leak...but not really...please aid!? Okay...I will try and make this short. I live alone with...

Okay...I will try and make this short. I live alone with one roommate who is here possibly three days out of the week. Other than that, it is just me and my dogs.
According to my water bill, I am using over 30,000 gallons a month which equates to 200.00 a bill. My brother owns matching house I do and has a family of four. His bill is singular 75.00 and he uses WAYYYY less than 30,000! Really, it is impossible for me to be using that much water.
I enjoy checked for a leak, there isn't one b/c if I turn sour my water, the meter stops running. The meter has be checked and isn't bad, my sprinklers and drip are on the right times, so what the heck!
I am NOT using that much water...I don't hold a pool or anything.
ANY IDEAS??
You could still have a overflow. Just because your meter doesn't run when you turn off the water, doesn't parsimonious there isn't a leak. Do you enjoy a basement, or a crawl space below your home, or is it on a slab? Any leakage surrounded by a basement would be pretty apparent, but not a soul ventures into the low, dusty crawlspace. Water leaking into a slab will soak the concrete. Also, tree roots may hold broken a pipe. Look around your home, inside and out, for any extra wet spots. I once found a leak surrounded by a flowerbed after getting a higher than normal bill. There be a pin sized leak that had turned a 4 square foot nouns into a bog, but I had to look closely to find it.

You should hire a plumber to look for the leak if you can't find it yourself. After adjectives you are spending $1500 a year more than your brother. Good luck.
Sounds to me resembling you have a hidden ooze. at 200/mo. it would be worth hiring a plumber to find it. First check the waste line to see if dampen is flowing there with everything shut rotten.
If not, it must be the irrigation system. check all of the drip system end cap while the water is on. If a drip cap falls bad it can be wasting thousands of gallons. It happened to my system twice. you should inspect them every month. If you can watch the meter, I would suggest monitoring its leisure during various times of the day to see when it runs the fastest. Also, you might try contacting your hose company for an audit. Some will come out and check your place for leaks and wasted marine.
Answers:    you say " if I turn off my dampen, the meter stops running. " do you mean turning of the water at your stop thump \ valve where it comes into your house, and nought in your house is turned on it stops the meter. if that is the overnight case you do have a leak on your side of the meter. If you intended that you turned of all your taps and appliances and the river meter stopped ,then something you use or are doing is utilizing far to much water." twinge in the but time " have every item turned off and check the meter is not moving take a information of the meter reading it should not be moving, now using only one appliance at a time , "enunciate washing machine" do your normal wash making sure it has stopped completely take another reading & calc. the No. of wash per month + the amount of water used per wash = gals per month. immediately you need to repeat this with every entity you do that uses water and calc. the results.
this includes washing you pots and dishes \ the sports car \ sprinkler system etcetera, when you add it all up it should approx. = your bill if thats the grip then you will have to use your initiative to cut down on your usage of marine. I.e. putting a water filled 1 liter plastic milk \ fruit carton inside your toilet cistern lug timed showers instead of baths only use your sprinklers at night ( after sundown ) for shorter period 3 ten min. periods last one 1\2 hour since sunrise, do a weekly wash instead of daily, don't check out of taps running when washing dishes ( compress sink & wash them by hand instead of dish washer) Check the difference when your room mate is in attendance !! if you do all this you will probably be amazed at your findings but as stated its a right pain surrounded by the butt.. hope this will help you resolve your water problem.
check the meter yourself turn off everthing check meter make sure it isnt running set out off at least 1/2 hour thenn grasp a 5 gallon bucket fill it up and see what the meter reads might want to check for broken rotten sprinkler heads if they are set to come on at night you'd never know it be running full flow hope this helps
Good finance question! I know of an enterprise that gives up to $1500 to people to aid them with their rent or mortgage. It's available in most US cities, I outstandingly suggest you check it out.

Best of Luck.
My first thought i how often do you sprinklers run and does your brother also use sprinklers, they can use a lot more sea than you think. Then second thought check to see if your bill includes sewage cost. I live in Pittsburgh and are sewage cost is measured by the river we use from the water meter. This sometimes stinks because the water you use to hose your lawn or fill your pool still get charged back to you twice because the sewage company still thinks it's going down the drain. Our bill is also quarterly which make it seem higher but you hold to remember thats the bill for 3 months at a time. So check if sewage is included in your bill and also make sure that it's of late for one month rather than 3.
