My parents planted tomatoes and peppers surrounded by an area of the patio where dogs have been pooping for months. The pooping stopped in the order of 4 months prior to this. Is it dangerous? Are bedbugs and bacteria still a difficulty after 4 months?
I don't know if it matters or not, but my mom said the tomatoes are growing faster than ever.
Answers: Providing it's not fresh, here will be absolutely no problems. The stuff is a fertilizer when it have broken down. Have you ever had dog poo on your prairie for a few days before you notice it, the grass trebles its growth.
Actually, dog and cat poo is dangerous. Properly decomposed horse and other animal poo is not. As long as they enjoy a good compost and soil though, it should be ok. As long as here was not physically any poo still near when they planted...
