Ok, so we live in Humble, Tx and we have a tomato plant. It's be producing very well, getting up to 4 to 5 tomatoes every other sunshine, and they have tasted great and have been fine. Well we check on them every day and pick them if we can, very well all of a sudden I go out for my morining check today, and I find 2 tomatoes near numerous large bites out of them. We have never have a problem before. Well later today, just about 2 1/2 hours ago, my Grandma goes out to pick a ripened one, and that tomato has generous bites out of it!! Earlier when I had found the 2 tomatoes, I checked all the other ones and they be fine. So that means whatever is consumption these came back! Can anyone PLEASE relay me what is eating our tomatoes??!!?? We live in a significant neighborhood, with a large backyard next to lots of plants and small trees. Please give us an idea of what it is. They are big bites. They do not pilfer them off the tree. They eat most of it and give it there on the tree. Any help would be nice. Thank you.
Sounds like birds.

Hang a wind chime or something that will blow contained by the wind (like a windsock or even one of those fake blow up owls from the nurture store or agricultural store) to keep them away.
There are many animals that like tomatoes. I could not recount you what is eating them because I'm not there LOL

I would find some deer fencing and attach it to large stakes and fence within your plants.
It might be that platypus cat :)

It might be birds. They really go for those bright red fruit. The ones contained by our yard steal our chili peppers back we can have any.

Try putting a chicken wire or netting over the plants.
Answers:    I also live surrounded by Texas and my friend has a problem with rabbits taking bites out of her tomatoes. I haven't have a problem with this because my cages restrict access for the little guys, but I know she said she have had real problems within the past and had to build makeshift devices to preserve them away from the fruit! If they are bigger bites, it would seem more likely to be a rabbit than a bird to me, but that's basically a guess.
