Uncommon uses of ferns?
Answers: As dinner :)
Ostrich ferns are big, showy, and tasty.
I resembling them along the edge of our pond and our paver porch, but they can be hung on backets out in a heavily treed reform for some interest, which looks cool, and tucked into pockets in rough stone walls. Uncommon: build a covered hang-out contained by your yard and clear it strong enough to stuff the top with pots of ferns so it looks resembling a structure roofed in fern leaves - fun to be within and (if an open structure is used so you can look up through the leaves as economically as the pergola) cool to be inside of as well. Also build a privacy wall near gaps and put ferns contained by those gaps - you can see out but it is rock-hard to see in through the folliage.
