It is not gophers because the digging is from top down and just the top seam of the grass is ripped off. The patch are about 1 foot to 3 foot wide and long. I picked up Critter Ridder from Home depot - did not work. Somebody recommend please. Thank you.
Answers: I have have an armadillo and a possum in my courtyard. Both dug from the top down like a dog would. They be looking for insects but I was not chirpy they were doing it surrounded by my garden. We captured them and took them out to a feral area and consent to them go.
