I wish I could append photos here so that you could see the potatoes instead of my lame discription.
The best way I can discribe the lumps/ bumps is that at hand is no discoloration in the potato , which are white round type {I don't know the specific type}.
The lumps / bumps are almost 1/8th to maybe a 1/4th inch contained by size and can be just on a side or cover thet potato.
They don't come across to be deep into the potato or that the inside (of the lumps) is any different color than the rest of the potato but the texture of the bumps/lumps is a large amount stiffer than the rest of the potato.

Answers: There are soil borne bacterium that can cause a condition contained by potatoes known as adjectives scab. Common scab is variable contained by its appearance forming raised or sunken lesion on the surface of the potato. It does not affect the color inside the potato. Just cut-off or use your peeler to remove the affected areas.
Here is a great site that discuses adjectives scab in detail including pics: http://www.potatodiseases.org/scab.html
