Answers: You can follow adjectives of the above suggestions and if they work, you will get a tree but probably not a greatly good apple tree. Apples propogated by nut generally produce a second rate tree next to poor fruit. You will also need two apple trees if you want apples as apple trees do not self pollinate. Apple trees are reproduced by graft as this makes for the most successful apple. If you want to grow them for fun and to view a tree grow, have at it but don't expect too much. You won't find a very dutiful apple producing tree. Johnny Apple seed run around the country planting trees that were mostly pious for cider. However, on the bright side, growing any kind of tree from pip would be an exciting experience for me and can be for you too.
