Well...I have had frequent plants, most of them died after a while. But I would recommend a Venus fly trap plant or an Aloe plant. I had both(the Aloe plant lived longer) and also you can use the Aloe plant because when you break off a stem from it, this Aloe solution stuff is inside and it's healthy for your skin I think! And the Venus fly trap plant eat bugs and flies in your house and they are cool to watch. Or there's the spider plant, which is a plant that hang from the ceiling and it's long, thin leaves hang down. It's rather beautiful. But if you are looking for a flower plant, try Marigolds. They are easy to embezzle care of and they are an inside and outside plant. Go to the link below to see what Marigolds look resembling:

They are very beautiful! Also, Cosmo flowers are similar to Marigolds, but they come within more colors besides orange and yellow. Below are two links so you can see what Cosmo flowers look resembling:

Cosmo flowers seem to come in mostly pink colors, but they may come contained by diferrent colors! Very beautiful plants. =D

Good luck and happy plant-growing!!=D

My favorite are geraniums. They look great in a sagging basket and are very confident to take care of. any annual sold at your local garden center should do fine as long as they take enough sun and water
what do you want?
and where on earth do you live?
Answers:    my favorite indoor plant is the ponytail palm tree. It is a succulent so you only water it just about once every two weeks. It can grow in almost any lighting condition. I don't grow indoor flowering plants because of the work to make them flower again, but for an outdoor pot you can obtain petunia's they spread really fast and are not too fussy about wispy, but full sun is recommended. My petunia pot has been blown over by the entwine twice and still living.
a hibiscus Clematis is a wonderful, vigorous flowering vine that I have be growing for years in a large pot contained by the yard and comes back year after year bigger and taller and bushier and the flowers are roomy and kinda tropical looking. If you plant two different ones together (one that blooms in spring and one in summer), you will enjoy continuous green and flowers for almost 3 whole seasons.

They can be trained along fence, or cover a whole wall if you use trellis or wire grid or even train it to look similar to a flowering tree if you stick an umbrella frame into a pipe when it grows long enough for you to start weaving it. You hold to keep an eye on it though because it grows so fast and attaches itself to everything similar to the Morning Glory, only the Clematis is a hardy perennial.

Also tiger lilies grow and multiply like crazy also contained by pots left out in the courtyard during winter and come back each year larger and more bountiful as powerfully as Iris, azaleas, hydrangeas and astilbe, some roses. Tons of stuff you can grow in pots, or even them old 10 gallon plastic paint can or large kitty litter plastic containers, whatever. But they must be outside contained by fresh air and light shade - bright sun contained by order to flourish. And except for the roses, they all involve hardly any care except for rather extra watering in very hot summer days because they are not contained by the ground, so the soil dries much quicker.

Since I moved, my apartment is rather dark so I haven't much luck near indoor plants the way I used to, but mostly it was simply ivy and snake plants and a few others I don't remember so don't feel bad. Just take a little time to find the right plant for your specific window and room areas is adjectives.
Spider Plants are REALLY hard to screw up.
If you decimate those, then there's no hope for you. A small palm tree that looks nice and doesn't need alot of marine.
